It will be a minimum of $1000 to recover. I'm going to try a few things myself tonight and if still nothing then I guess we have to try that.

Would starting over content wise and saving so much money be a bad thing?

Start over content wise and make sure people know they're banned if they try to steal an identity. Raise money for better infrastructure not to recover old bs. A lot of people have the really good stuff saved anyway.

Would starting over content wise and saving so much money be a bad thing? That's what I'm thinking. None of the posters from TMB would mind donating to get it back. But maybe we should consider buying new/better servers instead of spending money on recovering old stuff and then having to buy new/better servers on top of that. Unless this is something chan and them have already considered.

$1000 seems like a lot to recover old data. Would be great to have but that's too much to have to pay. I was 3rd in likes. :tebow:

I imagine we probably racked up a ton of stuff over the years that had to take up a massive amount of storage. Obviously losing everyones accounts etc. would suck pretty bad

If everyone here threw in like $5 ( are there more than 200 here? Idk) we would KO the money needed in an hour. I figure that everyone that cared enough to get over here is "committed" enough to keeping the site up that it's worth $5. Imo

Yeah I'd throw in some $ to help recover data, but really don't care all that much either way.... a start over wouldn't be horrible

It's do we want to raise that money to recover it (he said a minimum of $1000, means it could go higher), and then be stuck with old equipment still. Or would we rather raise the money to buy new/better servers and equipment and hopefully not have something like this happen again.

I'd rather help raise $1000 dollars to fund the site for the future than to use it to get the data back.

I say someone, chan preferably, setup an account and let us donate now and then do a poll as to whether save the files or start fresh. Have it depend on how much money gets donated.

There are 101 on right now, record is 110. Not sure how many are active but we've accumulated that many in a week so I would imagine those people are on TMB quite frequently.

I took it as we are getting the upgrades anyway, just a matter of getting our old data back or not.
