I'm in the database now and all that seems to be missing is the posts table of course. So I don't think anyone will have to sign up again.

What's with this fixation with Likes? There was an era when Likes weren't even a thing on TMB, folks. I'm sure most of you remember. Some say those were better times because everyone wasn't trying to make a hilarious post every time they said something. I, for one, buy into that philosophy somewhat. However, I do NOT miss the old manner in which people showed their appreciation for a post - quoting + laughing smiley/gif.

YES YES YESSSS no post counts except for you. They had to estimate how many posts you had and just decided to start you off with a post count of eleventy billion.

Some say those were better times because everyone wasn't trying to make a hilarious post every time they said something. How was that better? There are a lot of forced jokes on TMB. To me, the best ones are the posts that seem more organic. With a reward system such as Likes in place, people tend to attempt to be funnier more often even when a naturally humorous thought doesn't come to their mind right away. Now, I realize I'm talking about message board posts and I'd rather not spend any more brainpower breaking them down. Feelsbadman enough that I have thought about it before. For the record, a Like system (such as the ones on Facebook and Instagram) seem to do the same thing. More angling to get likes and validation. Less posting for the sake of sharing thoughts/ideas. Just my :twocents: though.

Don't get me wrong, Fratzy brother. I'm perfectly happy with them returning to TMB. I'm just a little disappointed, I guess, by how much people are seeming to worry about their Like counts. That isn't why TMB began or what made it great.

I'll like your first five tmb posts back if you quit whining about it.

They became de facto currency, and arguments can be made for that being positive and negative.

I'll like your first five tmb posts back if you quit whining about it. Whining? I was just trying to start a conversation about it. Seems like the ideal time to do so. As I stated in my last post, I don't care one bit if they return. Honestly, I'd probably lean towards them returning over not. Just bringing it up for discussion. Thanks, Josh!

All I ask is that the share on Facebook option does not return. The accidental Facebook share is a scourge, for certain.
