Tom Cruise and John Travolta are completely brainwashed I don't think Cruise is brainwashed I just think they feed his ego so much and give him whatever he wants so why would he ever turn on them. Travolta I have sympathy for, Cruise seems more like he's in on it.

The reason I think Cruise is teetering on the edge is because he HAS to know about the slave labor/prison-type camps/etc., but still blindly endorse him. I guess if they bend to his every whim he can look over it. I always thought he was a good guy re: humanitarian-wise. I imagine they have a ton of (gay) stuff on Travolta, hence why he won't leave. I wasn't necessarily buying any of it, but I thought their "religion" was solely based on the alien gods and Xenu and all that jazz. I didn't know it was actually grounded in some pseudo-psychoanalysis-science (was still interesting to hear explained).

It's in the billions, just crazy money. They also have churches set up all over the world, which is a little unnerving.

I want to know who the person is that shelled out $25 mil to support the lawyer fees. Im sure it was Miscaivage or whatever his name is. He basically controls everything there. L Ron, controlled all the money and wasn't seen for years.

Just playing devil's advocate, how are they different from other religions that get tax-exempt status and try to "spread the good word?"
Of course they're thousands of years younger than almost any religion you can point to, but besides that...seems pretty similar. Sure, it seems crazy to you and me, but so does the story of Christianity, etc.

People don't have to pay it? The Catholic Church doesn't require it, but people still donate gobs of money (admittedly, not nearly on a scale such as scientology)
I guess it is pretty crooked in the sense that it requires it to fully "understand"

I dont think catholics employ as much slave labor either.
I knew a lot of the stuff before watching it, but it was still fascinating to watch.

Tithing is part of every denomination of Christianity. What sets Catholicism apart from other denominations is the sheer number of Catholics in the world - over a billion.

What Scientology does is not tithing. Yes you could refuse to pay but then you have no shot to learn jack shit about this religion you follow. They said in order to learn their version of how this religion came about you have to pay to progress to that level. What other religion does that?
