Chuck is 100% right about Jimmy. He was just a coward about it and it backfired on him. Right or not, you dont fuck the hand thats been literally feeding you for years since your illness. Everything that he was using daily (ice, eggs, liquor, steaks, etc....) "slippin jimmy" was bringing to him. The least he could do is help Jimmy out. Guess we now know why he didnt want to try the case with just him and jimmy and wanted it to go to HHM

Really excited for the finale. Sad it's over but I am sure it's going to go out with a bang. Really excited to see where Mike ends up

I thought we'd see Saul at the end of season 1, now that we're here- I don't see how they can make that much of a transformation tonight. Unless it comes in the form of a cliff hanger right at the end.

considering over half of BB seasons you are left with a cliffhanger, i would assume one tonight as well

I expect Nacho to find his way to Jimmy again tonight
which would then allow for Mike's story and him to join together

Is that the same basement from BB? Don't think so given this is taking place in Chicago.

I know it doesn't take place in the same area, the poles just made me think it might be the same set at first, but I think it's different

Not quite the finale I envisioned, pretty lackluster. Felt like a mid-season kind of episode. It did reveal some things about Saul, but it was really not very impressive. He made his 'evolution' but still not with as much drama as I assumed was going to come with it. Nothing further between him and Chuck - expected something there after the dramatic end last week. Honestly if they ended it after last week I would have been more satisfied. The episode started off strong, but fell flat on its face towards the end. They ended on a pretty low note, especially after the incredible episode detailing Mike's background and Chuck's speech at the end of last week.
Lack of progression in Mike's story was extremely disappointing, but maybe he really isn't as big of a part of this show as originally assumed?
Enjoyed the Belize reference, and the BB reference showing the dented trashcan - reminiscent of Walt's paper towel holder in the hospital bathroom.

Is it possible they signed season 2 before 1 premiered because they ended up splitting the season 1 story into two parts ala BB final season? Just feels like a pretty horrible stopping point for season one.

Honestly if they ended it after last week I would have been more satisfied. Yeah, I didn't like how he still made sure Chuck was taken care of by Hamlin and even stopped by again after returning from Chicago. I felt like last week he made a clean break but now it's a little muddied up again. I thought he was just done with Chuck but now it's opened back up for future interaction with him being outside his house and everything.

Some nice, subtle Breaking Bad references in tonight's episode though... During his rant at the retirement home he mentions going to Belize which Saul used in Breaking Bad when talking to Walt about potentially killing Hank like he did Mike. And then the Kevin Costner thing with the girl. When I heard him say it I couldn't remember if it was in an episode of Breaking Bad or if other people had just joked about him looking somewhat like him outside of Breaking Bad but in season 3, episode 11 Saul said this to Walt...

I just finished the episode and I am glad I am not the only one who thought it was weak. There were some good references here and there, but it just didn't have the firepower pretty much the rest of the series has had. I definitely think season 2 will start off with a bang.

Chuck is still his brother, so it made some sense why he would check up him. This episode just had no real sense of an ending, nothing that really leaves you on edge like last week did. Rather than leaving on a crescendo, it was just flat. No real emotion. The story was just filler, nothing really happened.

I was really excited to see the clips for next week's BCS. Then it just said encore of season finale next.
That had zero feel of a finale

Granted Saul isn't the focus, he's still there enough that if he cared much about his brother I think he would have mentioned him. Maybe he's just weening off him. I don't know. I just liked the way Jimmy left Chuck in episode 9 and thought that was the last we'd really see of him.

While it lacked some of the "fuck yeah" moments that other episodes had, this was a perfect ending to the first season. This entire season is Jimmy trying to do the honorable thing to show his brother that he has changed. He no longer cares what his brother thinks and he's now going to become the loveable sleaze that we all know he will be.
:2 cents:

Good lord how did u remember that reference? Good looking out by you Epsisode was weak overall. Would of been better if episode 9 was the ending IMO. But in a weird way, that impresses me more with the writers. They always catch me off guard no matter what is going on, and I can never count on anything happening like a normal show. So in a weird way, this "lame" ending impresses me

If there was a doubt about the 2nd season, I'd agree that it was a weak finale. But, since we know we are getting a 2nd season I thought it was a perfect end to the introduction. We know a lot about Saul's future already so IDK what type of cliff hanger we'd need.

maybe i am already fanboy status, but i really enjoyed it. not as much as some episodes this season, but it was still very good. jimmy has now lost his bro chuck who was his guidance/motivation towards respectability and legitimacy. then he lost his buddy marco who was pulling him towards being a scumbag. he is sort of directionless and will have to figure out what he wants which seems like it will be a combination of chuck and marco, and that trajectory will get us to saul goodman with enough time.
