I was pissed off at chuck when i saw the last episode. Couldnt believe he would stoop so low against jimmy, but people show their true colors eventually i guess. Makes it easy for him to be in BB now without Chuck anywhere near
That was a pretty incredible end to the episode though, Chuck killed it. Kinda saw something like that happening, but not so soon or dramatic. Mikes part was awesome too.

ya it was dramatic as hell. Slippin Jimmy knew something wasnt right and he found out the cold truth
The end is an interesting commentary on perspective. Most would see someone working in a mailroom and taking law classes in the evening and eventually passing the bar as pretty damn hard work, but Chuck saw it as a backdoor way to becoming a lawyer.

Anybody else notice the guy Mike fucked up was Trevor from GTA 5?
I knew that I recognized him but it took me a minute to remember that they modeled the GTA V characters off of real people. Looked up his imdb and he also played a creepy locksmith on Broad City
Really loved last night's episode. I had a feeling Chuck was never as enthusiastic about Jimmy becoming a lawyer as Jimmy thought he was. I don't think that this is the end of their relationship and that we're suddenly going to get Saul. I think Jimmy will waver but eventually do something to gain Chuck's respect, only to lose it again later or maybe lose respect for Chuck.
Mike's bit about good criminals was amazing and quintessential Mike. I think we all fell in love with that character in Half Measure because of the underlying theme of his speech to Walt. Mike has never been as bad as the worst thing(s) that he's done.

I think Chuck's perspective may be getting too harshly received...first off, he's mentally incapable of understanding Jimmy's sacrifices for him...secondly, Jimmy still is Slippin' Jimmy and despite the great work he's put together, his goal has always been to get a foothold in Chuck's success and Chuck probably doesn't comprehend how hard Jimmy has worked for this moment.

I think chucks perspective is just as harsh as it sounded. He doesn't see Jimmy as a peer and never will. Regardless of how hard he works, he got his law degree taking online courses. We assume Chuck worked his ass off to get where he is, and sees Jimmy for what he really is - Saul Goodman.

He sees him as Slippin Jimmy who shortcuted and "tricked" his way into becoming a lawyer.

The way they make HHM out to be they are not hiring people with that pedigree.
Little bit of column A, little bit of column B, IMO. Jimmy shows a sense of entitlement thinking Chuck will immediately hire him after he passes the bar, and in assuming he's hired and gets his pick of offices most recently. Meanwhile, I think Chuck fails to recognize Jimmy's initiative to take night classes (albeit online but for 3+ years) and his gumption to take the bar repeatedly until he passes.
Howard is the wildcard in all of this. They've painted him as the bad guy but you can tell it kind of erks him and now we all know it was Chuck pulling the strings. Remember Howard doesn't know about Slippin' Jimmy so maybe he's actually somewhat impressed by what Jimmy has accomplished.

Jimmy is a great character, he takes short cuts, no question- but when it comes down to it, he is very smart and willing to work hard to get what the wants. Chuck sees the short-cuts, and slipping Jimmy, not how much work and smarts it took (even though they were shitty online classes) to become a lawyer.
