Came across the Ocean Aged 3rd Voyage and Willet Family Estate Rye Bottle 92, both of them ran me about 170$
Are they worth 170$? Fuck no. But since I had the misfortune of thinking my other bottle of Ocean Aged was the third voyage, when it was actually second voyage, I opened them anyways.
OA III- not near as sweet at the second release, no vanilla or caramel, tastes more scotchy/petey to me with a little bit of pepper. Changed a little bit with water, but not much.
WFER- medium rye taste, not much of a nose but it smelled like rubbing alcohol, fairly smooth, little bit of what i'd describe as pepper or tobacco.
Drinking my Parker's Heritage Promise of Hope- nice solid all around bourbon.
I think I've decided I like sweeter bourbons, however the two above I think would go great with a cigar.
